So, if the egg that is released into the fallopian tube is fertilized, could you be pregnant?

I read that you cannot ovulate if you're pregnant, but I've also read that you can be pregnant on your period. I read this too: If it isn't fertilized by a sperm it's then shed with your womb lining during your period. So is my question even accurate? I just really need to understand this.
