Leather jacket twins?

So I'm writing a novel, and my girl protagonist has an edgy/girly style. she is also a big fan of leather jackets. I'm thinking about adding a new character (a guy friend). He is basically like damon salvatore from the vampire diaries (without the vampiness). This is going to sound pretty stupid, but would it be weird to make it so that both of them cant leave the house with their leather jackets? (And no, they are not dating.) Thanks in advance.
