Should I tell my ex-boyfriend about my ectopic pregnancy?

I had my tubes tied after my second child was born. And I told my ex this so we decided we didn't need protection for obvious reasons. Now I found out this past week that I am pregnant but it is also ectopic and I caught it early enough that it did not cause any damage to my fallopian tubes. But I couldn't keep it either because it was ectopic. Do I need to tell him about what happened or should I leave it alone?
