BD the few days leading up to ovulation day is good! They generally mean 24 hour days, which means that you could've hit the sweet spot! Sperm has a tendency to live inside the female 3-5 days, you're correct, so you might've gotten lucky. I've always read that if you don't get a chance for BD on your main ovulation day that BD the days before are much better than the days after. I hope this helps!
